So since I haven’t been very useful coding for KDE recently I figured I could at least help get the new KDE Developer Wiki in even better shape. It’s really nice to have it in Wiki format I think. I just started on transferring the stuff on the HOWTOs and FAQs part of the old developer site and cleaned up a few spelling errors and grammar flaws on the way. Since it’s a Wiki if I notice such problems in the future it won’t mean a 7-step process to fix it, I can fix it right from the page instead.
So I’m really quite excited about the potential for our Wiki-based documentation system. One question I have regards licensing. Since the license for the Wiki is GFDL and Creative Commons – Share Alike, how do we handle migrating content from developer.kde.org? Unless the work was already dual licensed then I don’t think we have blanket permission to move content over, so until I figure out what we’re doing about that I’ve postponed moving content over.
In less-related news I’ll be flying up to visit my relatives soon, so that I can show off Ian to his folks and maybe get a nice four-generation photo. My memory has been getting more horrible recently as well. I used to be able to remember things real well but now all I know is that there were about 2 or 3 things which I was going to blog about which I never got around to and now I don’t remember what they were. And I still need to take pictures of Ian to send to my family, which I keep forgetting to do. I’m beginning to think I need to get more rigorous with my use of KOrganizer.
